Cisco acquire Source Fire in 2013 and Added Source Fire (IPS) Features to there Firewall known as ASA with FirePOWER Services.

The Sourcefire IPS was based upon Snort, an open source network intrusion detection and prevention system. In 2001,
Sourcefire was founded by Martin Roesch, the creator of Snort.
